I, __________.

I believe that the way we see ourselves has a massive impact on the way we see the world.
For most of my 27 years on earth I’ve been pretty convinced that my view of the world, my ideologies, my cultural filters, my prejudices were at best open and considerate and at worst a bit annoying to those different to me.

WRONG!

I think we ALL, every single one of us, need to take a good long look at who we are, what we believe and how we live out our positions in the world. We need to find those things in us that, inadvertently or not, reinforce the inequality, discrimination and abuse that exists in our world.

As a white male from a middle class family I need to do this more thoroughly than anyone else. And so this my attempt at that task. To identify, examine and hopefully change the things in me that stop me making the world a better place.
